About me
Yvonne Roen is an adventurous theater-maker, curriculum developer, teaching artist, and parent. Since 2010, she has created theater for and with young people in classrooms, community centers, and on stages in New York, New Jersey, and Washington DC. Yvonne co-wrote two interactive dramas BUILDING A BRIDGE and GEOLOGY ROCKS; and is the writer and lyricist for COOKIN’ UP NUMBERS, a children’s exploration of mathematical concepts. She has written curriculum for New York City Children’s Theater, YWCA of NYC After School, and Kindermusik International, and has worked as a teaching artist for several NYC Arts Programs. Yvonne has performed on professional stages in 28 states and three countries. She is the founder and program designer of Spotlight Youth Theater in Jersey City, NJ and a contributing Artist and Board Member of Untitled Theater Co. #61 in NYC. She is currently at work building a trauma-informed emotional management tool and writing a new TYA musical.
