Robert L. Freedman won the Tony Award for Best Book for 2014's Best Musical A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER. His recent theatre credits include the book for WITNESSES (California Center for the Arts), and book and lyrics for THE FLAMINGO KID (Hartford Stage), with music by Scott Frankel. Robert was nominated for two Emmy Awards for writing and producing the ABC mini-series LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND: ME AND MY SHADOWS, and was nominated for the Writers Guild Award for RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, starring Whitney Houston and Brandy. He won the Writers Guild Award for HBO's A DEADLY SECRET, and was a finalist for the Humanitas Award for CBS's WHAT MAKES A FAMILY, which also won the GLAAD Award for Best Television Film. Robert received the Distinguished Alumni Award from UCLA's School of Theatre, Film, and Television, and the Big Apple Award from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
