Pete's work includes principal roles w/ some of NY’s most lauded theater artists/organizations: Elevator Repair Service (Gatz,"etc.--The Public Theater, NY Theater Workshop, etc.), Annie Baker ("Infinite Life"--NY and London), Tina Satter ("Is This a Room", etc.-The Kitchen, the Lyceum Theater on Broadway), Blue Man Group, the Wooster Group ("North Atlantic"), Young Jean Lee, ("Straight White Men," etc.--The Public Theater, Soho Rep, etc.), Will Eno ("Middletown"--Vineyard Theater), Sarah Gancher ("The Wind and the Rain"--En Garde Arts/Vineyard Theater), Big Dance Theater (BAM, etc.), Richard Maxwell, Richard Foreman and Julia Jarcho, as well as choreographers Susan Marshall, Dean Moss and Annie B. Parson. He was awarded an Obie for Sustained Excellence of Performance in 2017, and an ND Charles Bowden Award in 2024. Pedagogy: Simpson has conducted workshops for NYU/ETW, Boston University, Barnard College and Rutgers University and currently serves as adjunct w/ NYU and Harvard.
