Filichia’s play God Shows Up ran off-Broadway for six months in 2019. He's performed his one-person show A Personal History of the American Theater dozens of times across the country.
He was president of the Drama Desk Awards (1992-1996) and now serves on its nominating committee. He has also been a nominator for The Chita Rivera Awards, the Lucille Lortel Awards, and, for the last 25 years, chairperson of the nominating committee of The Theatre World Awards and its emcee for its annual ceremony.
Since 1994, he's been the musical theater judge for ASCAP’s annual awards.
