Julie James is an award-winning vocalist, theatre performer, voiceover artist and radio personality. Julie is a Program Director at SiriusXM, curating all the music for the On Broadway & Metropolitan Opera Radio channels, celebratring 15 years as host of "Broadway Names with Julie James", taking her listeners on the town, backstage & into the studio for fun, lively conversations with the biggest and best of Broadway and beyond.
Just some of the legendary talents who love visiting Julie's show include Hugh Jackman, Julie Andrews, Sting, Rita Moreno, Steven Spielberg, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Audra McDonald, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Patti LuPone, Jennifer Holliday, Barry Manilow, Kristin Chenoweth, Joel Grey, Sara Bareilles, Leslie Odom, Jr., Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Harvey Fierstein, Neil Patrick Harris, Cynthia Erivo, & many others. Julie was honored to sit with the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg at the Supreme Court, in one of her last interviews, January 2020. She has also produced in-studio projects at SXM with mega-watt stars such as Barbra Streisand & Bette Midler, has sung numerous jingles & parody songs for many channels including The Howard Stern Show, and recently appeared with Conan O’Brien doing musical comedy improv for the launch of his branded radio channel.
As a performer, Julie has appeared internationally, on Broadway, in theatres across the country and played sold-out engagements at many of New York City's concert & cabaret venues.
Interweaving her passions, Julie has hosted hundreds of events, on Broadway & across America, covered many red carpets including 15 years of the TONY Awards, and is now often called upon as an on-camera theatre expert for NBC, CBS, Fox5's ‘Good Day NY’, Google, and NY1. Julie's personality, presence and "vocal swiss army knife" brought her to SiriusXM, where her voice is heard by millions each day as a host and on Broadway news updates, voiceovers, jingles & parody songs for various channels across the platform.
