Ephraim Sykes is currently starring as George Gibbs in the Broadway revival of Our Town. He was nominated for a Tony Award for his role as David Ruffin in the Broadway musical Ain't Too Proud: The Life And Times Of The Temptations. A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, Ephraim received a scholarship to the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University BFA program where he graduated with departmental honors and toured with the Ailey II company for two years. He made his Broadway debut with The Little Mermaid and was an original cast member of Memphis, Newsies and Motown: the Musical and Hamilton.
On screen, Sykes can be seen in the Hamilton film on Disney+ and Katheryn Bigelow’s Detroit. He also portrayed the role of Marvin on the HBO series Vinyl, Crisis in Six Scenes, Luke Cage and Russian Doll.
