Ed "Tiger" Verdin, a nationally recognized playwright and member of the Dramatist Guild and Gulf Coast Playwrights, serves as Franklin’s Main Street Director, Public Relations Director, Cultural District Liaison, Economic Development Director, and Executive Director for the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts. As Louisiana’s State Captain for Americans for the Arts, Tiger is highly influential. His 9/11 play Undying Love earned acclaim at the Samuel French Off-Broadway Festival and appeared in The Dramatist. Commissioned by the Iberia African American Historical Society, he wrote The Forgotten Healer about Dr. Emma Wakefield-Paillet, Louisiana’s first Black female doctor. His musical The Quarters won an ArtSpark Award and a cultural grant, sweeping 10 Broadway World Regional Awards. Recently commissioned to write about Operation Jubilee and WWII's 2nd Lt. Edward Loustalot. Tiger, his wife Stacey, and their four children are devoted to advancing the arts in Louisiana
