About me
David Henry Hwang’s works include M. Butterfly, Yellow Face (recently revived on Broadway), Soft Power, Aida, Chinglish, and Flower Drum Song, as well as thirteen opera libretti; Ainadamar (music by Osvaldo Golijov) made its Metropolitan Opera debut in Fall 2024. A professor at Columbia University, Hwang is a Tony Award winner and three-time nominee, a Grammy Award winner and two-time nominee, a three-time OBIE Award winner, and a three-time Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama.
