This session will reveal what a veteran casting director really looks for in an actor and is geared towards individuals who are interested in or already pursing careers in performance. Panelists will discuss strategies and next steps for actors who are looking to make a living as a performer, which includes working in TV/streaming, film, theatre, commercials, stand up, sketch, and one person shows. Some topics that will be covered include social media and influencer culture, auditions (both in person and self-tapes), whether or not to relocate for work, how we scout talent AKA “How can you get discovered?”, as well as creating your own content.

Each year, Broadway is lucky to be graced with a few performances by veteran actors who are masters of their craft. They lead by example and teach audiences and younger actors in the company what it means to inhabit a role. In this panel, 17-year-old podcast host Charles Kirsch (Backstage Babble) will sit down with actors who have been in the business for more than thirty years, all of whom are performing on Broadway this season, and talk to them about the lessons that they've learned and continue to pass on.
